Your success Our success
Prior to starting at the firm our trainees will complete the MA (LPC with Business) at BPP law school. The MA LPC is designed to equip you with practical and academic training in core business concepts such as business finance and business strategy, alongside the standard elements of the LPC.
Crucial to being a successful lawyer is understanding the challenges, opportunities and pressures faced by clients. Studying the MA (LPC with Business) will provide you with the opportunity to gain an detailed understanding of the financial markets and business environments in which our clients are operating.
You will study alongside other HFW trainees, meaning that you will have the benefit of knowing your fellow colleagues before you start at the firm. You will also study LPC electives that are linked to the firm's business areas – namely insurance law, advanced commercial litigation and international trade and transactions.
If you are a non-law student you will need to study the GDL (also at BPP) prior to commencing MA (LPC with Business).
We provide our future Trainees with a maintenance grant towards each year of study. Our standard maintenance grant is £7,000 per year paid on a monthly basis throughout the course. Whilst the vast majority of our trainees elect to study in London, if, for any reason, you are unable to study in London, then our non-London maintenance grant is £5,500.
We look to provide our future Trainees with plenty of opportunities to keep in touch with us in the lead up to starting their training contracts. Each year we run social activities and presentations at our London office to enable you to come into the firm, hear about the work that we have been doing and to meet our Trainees, Associate and Partners. By the time that you start with us you will have established networks with your fellow Trainees, and with Associates and Partners right across the firm, making that first day at the firm a far less daunting prospect.
